Layered Sunrise
For a long time I've wanted to stop and take a picture of these two
trees with the Frisbee golf basket between them. Then, this morning we
had the most awesome sunrise. There were all these purple, pink, blue,
peach layers of newness just bursting across the horizon and painting
the thin clouds that sprinkled the sky. It put me in a great mood that
lasted all day. Since there was no way I could let this sunrise escape
without documenting it, today was the day I stopped to get my photo of
these trees.

Memontos
My 7th and last entry for my same subject challenge week. Not very inspired, but I'm still really tired from being sick. Here is my gavel with what I have left (minus my small bible) from my days as a Rainbow Girl. I still have my bible, but cannot find where I've stashed it, so this will have to do. I cannot believe it's been almost 30 years since I stopped attending those meetings.

Animal Farm
Day two of my same subject... thinking about gavels made me think of judges and laws and such. My daughter just recently read Animal Farm and she and I discussed it so it's refreshed in my mind and this is what I came up with for my gave (same subject) for today.
My daughter gets credit for building the "perch" that "Napoleon" is standing on and for contributing the horse and dog. My puppies were cruelly deprived of their pig toy during the photography session for this shot. They were overly repaid for such an atrocity. However, no toys were harmed in anyway during the shooting of this photograph.

Gavel
This is my gavel from when I was a teenager and in Rainbow Girls. I actually keep this on my desk at work. Not sure why, I just took it to work with me one day about 13 years ago and it's just always been put with my work stuff. I have decided to use this as my "same subject" object. We'll see if I can come up with any creative ideas for it. But, I wanted the first picture to be just a picture of the gavel itself. I don't know how long I'm going to do the same subject, so we'll see how this goes.

Down Time
My daughter playing around with her iPod during some down time at the swim meet. The little boy she's taking a picture of is on the swim team, but did not participate in this weekend's meet... however his older brother did. the picture you see in her iPod is half of this boy's brother's face and half of his face. It's an app that my daughter loves to play with.

Me
In honor of my birthday, I am posting a picture of one of my baby
photos. I used my light box for this and other than a little cropping
and adding my initials, it's sooc
This is my entry for sparkle for January Treasure Hunt. These are my two most precious pieces of jewelry. They are my birthstone ring (Garnet) and my wedding set.
My birthstone ring was given to me by my husband on my 23rd birthday, but he was not my husband yet. We were not even engaged yet. We had been dating for almost 6 years when he gave this to me and it was the perfect gift for that birthday. It was a total surprise.
My wedding band was actually built onto my engagement ring. The gold band was created and soldered right onto my engagement ring for me.
Both of these rings are more than just jewelry to me. The represent the most stable relationship I have ever had in my life. They are a constant reminder that I have been lucky enough to spend most of my life with my best friend, the man I am totally in love with, my husband.
I chose to post this today because my birthstone is the January birthstone and today is my birthday. I turned 43 today, so I've had my birthstone ring for 20 years now.

One Bone, Two Dogs
Actually, there are TWO Nylabones in our house, but both girls prefer the green one. Not to mention they love to play snatch and run from each other, or keep away. Izzy had crawled up onto my lap with the bone. I guess she thought if she was on Momma's lap, Livvy would leave her alone. WRONG! LOL! And, Livvy thought she was being sneaky by just eying it for a while.

Mr. Pigglesworth
Meet Mr. Pigglesworth. He came home with us tonight. He replaced Ms. Chickenwing. Mr. Pigglesworth had the misfortune to come home to a house with two Scottie puppies in it. They love him so much that his noisemaker is already dead. Poor Mr. Pigglesworth has only been in his new home a little over an hour and he's already rendered mute.

Waiting At The Stoplight
As I was on my way home tonight, I stopped several times to get pictures of the traffic and sunset, but then as I was sitting at the stoplight just about a mile and a half from home, I noticed my speedometer in the view finder of my phone's camera and thought it looked cool. I softened it a bit because I have a tendency to daydream at stoplights. I thought it was cool I also caught the left turn signal in the picture.
