All Star Academic

My daughter was recognized tonight at the school board meeting. She was one of 12 students who were recognized as the top three scoring students in the Communication Arts or Math section of our state test that they took last spring. These were 5th and 6th graders last year. My daughter was one of the top three scorers of the Communication Arts section in 6th grade last spring.

She Can Fly

Oct. 8, 2011 was my daughter's first swim meet of her second year on the swim team. She did so great. She improved her times in all four strokes and won her heat in breast stroke. She actually took 7 seconds off her time on her 100 Freestyle. I'm so proud of her!

Been There Forever

You know those places in every town that just have always been there, and probably always will be? This is one of them in my town. It's a bar that has been around for at least three generations, quite possibly more. And, you know, I've never been inside it.
